Whether you come to us together or alone, with or without children, Ecolonie has been the ideal place since 1989 to feel at home among like-minded people of all ages. It’s a perfect setting to make new friends or reconnect with old ones, and to enjoy a holiday as it’s meant to be: relaxing, creative, and active. But Ecolonie is more than just a holiday destination. We are a living and working community, where we come together to create a sustainable and inspiring environment. All our grounds are maintained by volunteers, whom we call participants. They contribute to Ecolonie’s unique atmosphere and make it possible for this special place to continue thriving.

Low-radiation stay
For the well-being of our community and our radiation-sensitive residents, participants, and guests, we ask everyone—residents, participants, and visitors—to switch all mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, and other electronic devices to airplane mode or turn them off while on any of our grounds (Thietry, the goat farm, Forge Neuve, the teahouse, and the swimming lake).
In guest rooms, rental accommodations, and the general information area/library, Ethernet (wired) internet is available for guests who wish to use it. Additionally, there is an internet access point in the parking area with a login code for anyone who needs to use their phone, laptop, or tablet intentionally at certain times.

Biodegradable products
To protect our natural water purification system, we ask that you use only biodegradable personal care and household products (such as toothpaste, shampoo, dish soap, and sunscreen).
Smoke-free grounds
All our sites (Thietry, Forge Neuve, and the goat farm) are smoke-free, including e-cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted outside the grounds.
