ECOlonie is situated just outside the little village Hennezel in the Lower Vosges in the northeast of France. You will find it 370 km east of Paris, 70 km south of Nancy, 35 km southwest of Epinal, near the small town Darney. We are easily reached by rail or by road. The surroundings are splendid for walking and cycling.

Surroundings of ECOlonie
ECOlonie is located in the lower part of the French Vosges. It is a hilly, wooded area. The forestry Darney, in which ECOlonie is situated, is one of the largest deciduous forests in France (12,000 hectares). Here many species of mosses grow (a sign of pure air) and various types of orchids, some rare. It is also home to foxes, deer, wild boar, badgers, birds and even lynx.
By train or bus
- Paris East to Nancy Ville
- from Brussels, Liège, Luxembourg to Nancy Ville
- take the bus from Nancy to Vittel (direction Contrexéville): about 90 min
- in Vittel we will pick you up at the station (20 euros for 1 person, 15 euros p.p. for several people)

Flixbuses (www.flixbus.fr) are also a cheap option. They arrive in Nancy 1.5 km from the main station (20m walk) or in Vandoevre-les-Nancy.
Please note that it is another 1.5 hours by bus from Nancy to Vittel, and that we can pick you up in Vittel until 8:00 PM (until 9:00 PM in high season).
From Nancy you take the bus to Vittel. If you let us know in advance that you are coming by train, you can use our pick-up/drop-off service from Vittel station. That is another half hour drive, costs 20 euros for 1 person, for multiple people 15 euros per person. We offer this pick-up and drop-off service from Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. You can arrange this on site for the return journey.
We ask you to call us from Nancy to let us know your time of departure from Nancy and your time of arrival in Vittel. It's another 30 minutes drive and we won't leave without you having called.
Carpooling
Ecolonie is committed in carpooling solutions. If you have a space available in your car, indicate it in your reservation. If you would like to carpool with someone, please let us know as well.
Moreover, there are websites to find paid or free carpooling yourself (blablacar.fr, covoiturage-libre.fr, etc.).
