Gaia Collective Ecolonie thrives thanks to the commitment of hundreds of people of all ages and from all over the world. Every year, around 200 enthusiastic participants contribute to our various projects, and together we build a unique living and working community (Gaia Collective).
At Ecolonie, you can participate as a temporary or permanent participant, an intern, a resident or as a guest. This means actively taking part in and contributing to life and work here, a valuable experience where your contribution truly makes a difference!
Are you staying at Ecolonie as a guest and would you also like to lend a hand? During the early and late seasons, simply let us know at reception, and we’ll see where your help is most needed. During the high season (July & August), you’ll find a sign-up sheet on the 'Cour'(the courtyard) where you can see how you can contribute.
For the summer season, we are looking for enthusiastic participants to join us and help out at Ecolonie! With a busy campsite and fully booked guest accommodation, there is plenty to do during the summer, and your help is very much appreciated.
In July and August, temporary participants work 36 hours per week (instead of 40) and receive a contribution towards travel expenses. Would you like to become part of our inspiring community and help build Ecolonie together?

Appeals
Throughout the year, and especially during the high season, we warmly welcome new temporary participants, as well as, of course, those who have joined us before! There are many different ways to get involved at Ecolonie: you can help in the Orangerie, the shop, the gardens, the guest accommodation and reception, the workshop, and more. Together with you, we look for a good balance between your interests and skills and what we need at Ecolonie. Below you’ll find a few examples of the different ways you can contribute.

Orangerie
The Orangerie is where guests can enjoy coffee or tea, drinks, ice cream and cake. We also offer a small menu of simple meals, as well as a pizza night and a fries night several times a week. For the summer period, the beginning of July untill the end of August, we are looking for participants to help out behind the bar and/or in the kitchen.
Shop
During July and August, we could use some extra help in our shop. You’ll work as part of a team, helping at the checkout, restocking shelves, and with various other shop duties. We are also looking for someone to assist our shop coordinator, Rik, with his work.
Service team
The service team makes sure that all the delicious food prepared in the kitchen is ready and served to our guests on time, and cleared away afterwards. Tasks include making coffee and tea, clearing the buffets and doing the accompanying washing-up. It’s a dynamic role with plenty of variety. We are also looking for a coordinator for the service team.
Gardens
During the summer, there is plenty of work to be done in the vegetable gardens, fruit garden and herb garden. If you have green fingers, or want to get your hands dirty, you are very welcome.
Housekeeping
Our hotel rooms, guest accommodations and outdoor sanitary facilities are cleaned every day with care, attention and a little love. If you enjoy practical work and creating a clean, welcoming environment for our guests, you are very welcome to join us!
Most of these tasks can easily be combined with other roles, allowing you to create a varied and enjoyable working schedule.
